How to write a Vinted listing that sells
Updated 2026-10-26
Buyers on Vinted, Tradera and Tise search, scroll and decide in seconds. A good listing answers their questions before they have to ask. Here is a formula that works for almost any piece of clothing.
1. The title: brand, item, details, size
Put the words people search for first. A good order is brand + type of item + the most important detail + colour + size.
- Good: Levi's 501 jeans straight leg dark blue W32 L32
- Weak: Nice jeans!!
Add an era or style word if it is true and people search for it, like 90s, vintage or Y2K.
2. The first line of the description
Repeat what it is in one plain sentence. Many buyers only read the first line.
3. The facts buyers always ask about
- Size, and how it fits: small, true to size or oversized.
- Measurements, for example pit to pit, length, waist and inseam, laid flat. This prevents most returns and questions.
- Material, from the care label.
- Condition, honestly. Mention flaws and show them in a photo.
4. Keep the same layout every time
Use the same order and headings in every listing, for example Details, Measurements and Flaws. Buyers find what they need quickly, and your shop looks professional.
5. Search words
A few relevant words at the end help search: the style, the cut and what people call it. Keep them true to the item. Stuffing in unrelated brands breaks the rules on most sites.
Checklist
- Brand, item, detail, colour and size in the title
- One clear first sentence
- Size, measurements, material and condition
- Flaws named and photographed
- The same layout as your other listings
